Who this is for

Uni-Verse Cardiff is for Cardiff University students with a verified @cardiff.ac.uk email address (plus a small allowlist for the team running the platform). Creating an account is you confirming you're a genuine Cardiff student.

What Uni-Verse is

Uni-Verse aggregates events, societies, opportunities and discounts from Cardiff University's Students' Union, societies and partners, always linking back to the original source and crediting whoever's actually running the thing. Social content (events, society posts) comes from verified organisations, not individual students — the one exception is Flatmates, where students post their own spare rooms directly, since there's no "official org" for that.

Your account

One account per person, using your own name and details — don't impersonate anyone or make up an identity. Keep your password to yourself. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

Direct messages

Message other students the way you'd want to be messaged. Harassment, hate speech and spam aren't allowed. Every conversation can be reported — a report is reviewed by an admin, which may include reading the reported messages, so we can act on it fairly. Blocking someone stops them from messaging you.

Flatmates postings

Only post a room or listing that's genuinely yours to offer. No scams, no discriminatory listings, no fake postings. You're responsible for what you post — report anything that looks fake or unsafe.

Content and credit

Uni-Verse doesn't own the events, societies or opportunities it lists — they belong to the organisations that run them, and we link back to the original source. If you run a society or event and want something changed or removed, get in touch.

Availability

Uni-Verse is a small, actively-developed student project, provided as-is. We can't promise it'll always be up, or that every feature will stay exactly as it is today.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

Changes

If anything here changes in a way that matters, we'll update this page.

£100 launch giveaway rules

1. Promoter: Uni-Verse Cardiff, a student-run project. Contact: cardiffuniverse1@gmail.com. This giveaway is not run, sponsored or endorsed by Cardiff University or Cardiff University Students’ Union.
2. Who can enter: current Cardiff University students aged 18 or over with a Uni-Verse account and a verified @cardiff.ac.uk email address. It’s open to the first 1,000 users to verify their email. The Uni-Verse team can’t enter.
3. How to enter: it’s free and no purchase is needed. Create an account, verify your email and press “Enter the draw” on the Discounts page. One entry per person.
4. Extra entries: once you’ve entered, you get one extra entry for each Cardiff student who signs up with your invite link and verifies their email.
5. Fair play: fake, duplicate or other people’s accounts aren’t allowed. Any entries made that way (and any extra entries from them) will be removed, and can lead to disqualification.
6. Closing date: entries close at 11:59pm (UK time) on 30 April 2027. Entries after that don’t count.
7. The draw: one winner is picked at random from all valid entries within 7 days of the closing date.
8. The prize: £100, paid by bank transfer to a UK bank account in the winner’s own name. There’s no cash or other alternative, and the prize can’t be transferred to someone else.
9. Contacting the winner: we’ll email the winner at their @cardiff.ac.uk address. They have 2 weeks to reply. If they don’t reply in time, or aren’t eligible, we’ll pick another winner at random in the same way. We’ll only ever ask for bank details by email, in reply to our winner email, never in a message on Uni-Verse or on social media.
10. Payment: we’ll send the £100 within 14 days of getting the winner’s details.
11. Announcing the winner: we’ll only share the winner’s name or photo if they say that’s OK.
12. Your data: entries are only used to run this giveaway and contact the winner. See our Privacy page.
13. Changes: if something outside our control stops the giveaway running fairly, we may change or cancel it and will say so on this page.
